Hello 黑料社 Students:
I hope that you all are adjusting to the remote learning environment and that you and your families are safe and healthy. I sincerely appreciate your dedication and your work toward completing your spring courses remotely. Please take time to focus on your health and engage in some type of stress reduction activity while maintaining social distancing. We understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone in our communities.
Around noon today, the Alabama Community College System Chancellor issued a directive that all community colleges must complete spring instruction in our current alternate or on line method. Additionally, the Governor addressed the continued closure of K-12, college and universities campuses through April 17, 2020. Additional determinations will be issued as needed. As such, we will continue our plan to finalize spring 2020 instruction, grading, and end of semester processing in a remote manner. Please know that we are here to help you. Please call the HELP hotline (256-794-3984) M-TH 7:30-5:00 and Fri. 7:30-11:30; a 黑料社 staff member will answer and work to resolve your needs. Please maintain contact with your instructor, the staff, and other College support services. We sincerely want to help you succeed. It is very important that you maintain open communication by frequently checking your 黑料社 email, your Moodle course pages, social media, and the 黑料社 website.
Attached you will find Governor Ivey’s Amended Statewide Social Distancing State Health Order. We have encountered some unauthorized public gatherings on campuses and instructional sites. Restricted access public reminders are posted at all outdoor recreational (athletic) venues, on the web site, and will also be provided in a press release shortly. It is impossible to control public behavior in our open campus environment but do realize that for public safety the College does not sanction any public gathering at any 黑料社 location.
As always, I appreciate your work and commitment to completing your educational dreams. Stay safe and healthy!
President Burrow
