CENTRAL ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE SPRING SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS
ALEXANDER CITY, AL 鈥 June 12, 2024 鈥 黑料社 (黑料社) is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of our spring sports teams. This season, our student-athletes have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and sportsmanship, making significant strides in their respective sports.
Softball Highlights
Our softball team concluded the season with an impressive 41-19 overall record and a stellar 28-4 record in conference play. The team was crowned the ACCC Conference Regular Season Champions, and Greg Shivers was honored as the ACCC Coach of the Year. Additionally, the team achieved an impressive 3.54 GPA, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence.
Individual accolades include:
鈼 First Team All ACCC: Campbell Hecklinski (C), Jenna Castleberry (P), Kelbi Johnson (IF), Morgan Brewer (OF), Blair Darby (OF)
鈼 ACCC Pitcher of the Year: Jenna Castleberry
The team also made a strong appearance at the NJCAA World Series.
President Jeff Lynn expressed his satisfaction with the team鈥檚 accomplishments: 鈥淥ur softball team has exemplified excellence both on and off the field. Their achievements this season are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and Coach Greg Shivers’s outstanding leadership.鈥
Golf Highlights
The 黑料社 golf team finished #5 in the NJCAA Tournament, emerging as District Tournament Champions and ACCC Conference Champions. Coach Daniel Allen received accolades as both the Conference Coach of the Year and District Coach of the Year.
Individual accomplishments include:
鈼 James Baker and Gunnar Green both finished tied for 13th nationally.
鈼 Gunnar Green was named SwingU “Golfer of the Month” in February.
鈼 James Baker earned 1st Team Ping All-America and All-District honors.
鈼 Gunnar Green and Cian Hughes were both named All-District.
Athletic Director Steve Lewis highlighted the team’s success: 鈥淥ur golf team has had an incredible season, marked by excellent performances and national recognition. Coach Daniel Allen and our talented golfers have set a high standard for excellence.鈥
Baseball Highlights
The baseball team finished the conference with a 21-11 record and were State Runner-Ups. With a team GPA of 3.05, our baseball players have shown a strong commitment to their sport and academics. The team had 26 players on the Commissioner鈥檚 Honor Roll.

鈼 Second Team All ACCC: Arwin Burgos, Dalton Gray, Macks Bishop
鈼 ACCC Relief Pitcher of the Year: Macks Bishop
鈼 All-Tournament Team: Macks Bishop, Arwin Burgos
鈼 Macks Bishop led the state with 14 saves.

President Lynn added: 鈥淥ur baseball team has achieved tremendous success this season. Their dedication and talent are evident, and we are proud of their accomplishments and the opportunities they have earned to continue their academic and athletic careers.鈥
Athletic Director Steve Lewis commented, “This has been an amazing season for all our teams. Our student-athletes and coaches’ hard work and commitment have brought significant recognition to 黑料社. Their successes on the field and in the classroom reflect the values and spirit of our college.鈥
