TouchofGlam Beauty Duochrome Eyeshadow Palette (Swatches)

TouchofGlam Beauty Duochrome Eyeshadow Palette (Swatches)

I was stalking TouchofGlam Beauty on Etsy ( for a long time before I finally made a purchase.

The company was established on Etsy in 2015 and boasts a gorgeous collection of sparkly, statement-making pigments. I would say that the company’s products definitely live up to its name.

I purchased the duochrome palette – you know I am an absolute sucker for duochromes! – which was made to order. This meant that I had to wait a couple of months for my order to be prepared and shipped, which I was okay with – a bespoke, handmade eyeshadow palette is definitely worth waiting for!

I also ordered a number of TouchofGlam Beauty’s highlighters – there is an abundance of high-shine, richly pigmented highlighters in distinctive colours available on the company’s Etsy page.

For today’s blog post, I will stick to reviewing and swatching the duochrome palette. Highlighters will be covered in a future post.

Duochrome Palette:

Described as: 15 intense foiled 26mm pan size eyeshadow palette. The cost of this palette is CAD$86.64 which is comparable to some higher end palettes in the market. I was fortunate to purchase it during a 40% off sale, which brought the price down to just over CAD$50 (which is a bargain for this palette!).

I found that the colors on this palette were really hard to photograph accurately.

Here are my swatches:

Top Row (Bottom to Top):

The first photo is under white vanity light and the second is in more yellow-toned lighting.

On Fleek

TouchofGlam recommends that On Fleek be used as a browbone highlight and I can see why – it is almost white with a pale gold / cream duochrome shift. It would really help your brow pop but I would offset it with a darker crease shade.

Dandelion a light peach gold duochrome with gold pink reflecks and a beautiful pink shift

I don’t see peach but it is definitely a pale pink to lavender with a white gold reflect – stunning colour.

Diva like liquid gold with peach and red shift

Absolutely love this one – it’s almost copper and moss green at different angles.

Aloha rose gold

This is gorgeous – it shifts almost pale gold to silver with a darker pink / rose tone in the shadow.

Temptress a cool pink duochrome with blue reflecks and a beautiful lavender shift

This is a darker pink – almost fuchsia. The lavender shift is stunning.

Middle Row (Bottom to Top):

First – white vanity light and Second – yellow-toned indoor lighting.

Fantasy lilac to purple with gold shift and green gold reflects

The lilac is beautiful but it appears as more of a silver shift to me – I didn’t observe any green.

Your Majesty

This shifts from gray-blue to violet to silver. Very interesting and unique colour.

This is a slight variation of Your Majesty – a darker purple with a lilac shift and almost a royal blue in weaker light.

Boss Lady

This is a burgundy / wine with a lighter pink to silver shift. Heavenly!

Museolive green shifts to gold

One of my favorites – olive to moss green shifting to an antique gold in yellower light.

Bottom Row (Bottom to Top):

First – white vanity light and Second – yellow-toned indoor lighting.

Similar to On Fleek but has more of a light algae green undertone. I would use this more as an inner lid shade instead of a highlight. Silver and blue flecks add dimension.

Darker green, almost an army green at certain angles. Overtone is pale gold.

Love Child

Turquoise blue with a silver shifts, looks almost sea green-blue at certain angles.

Paris Nights

This one is very hard to describe – it definitely multichrome. It looks gunmetal with a silver shift in some lighting conditions and in others, goes to a spectrum of light blue to violet and almost green at certain angles. In addition, it is packed with rainbow reflects. This one blew me away.

The bluest blue out of the bunch – it’s a stunning sapphire colour.

All in all, this is a beautiful palette. Each eyeshadow is densely packed with pigment and reflective and glitter particles which means there is considerable fallout. You have to really press down with your brush to pick it up. ToughofGlam recommends that you use your fingers; however, I had no problem with a brush application. I did use Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy and I would definitely recommend you use some kind of sticky base.

My key tip for working with duochromes: If you want the full colour payload, make sure you use a sticky base!

Minor complaint that the eyeshadows aren’t labeled – you wouldn’t be able to keep track of the colours at the time of application. You may need to refer back to the product posting if you are looking to post a look to Instagram (note to self!).
